Sale Points & Opening Hours

Important Notice: Ticket issuance is generally available up to 5 minutes before the scheduled departure of a service. Passengers are advised to purchase their tickets in good time.


Ticket Changes & Cancellations

Tickets may be changed or cancelled at Hellenic Train ticket offices up to 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the service.

Exception: This option does not apply to Hellenic Train smart interoperable tickets used within the OASA urban transport zone.


Ticket Validity & Travel Flexibility

As a general rule, tickets are valid only for the specific date and service for which they have been issued.

However, for greater convenience, extended validity (from 1 hour before to 3 hours after the indicated departure time) applies to the following services:

  • Athens Suburban Railway
  • Patras Suburban Railway
  • Local services between Thessaloniki and Larissa
  • Katakolo – Pyrgos – Olympia services
