During your journey on Hellenic Train services, you may carry hand luggage free of charge, provided it is intended for personal use and can be easily handled. Such items are considered hand luggage.
Conditions of Carriage
The transport of hand luggage is permitted under the following conditions:
- Its contents do not violate applicable prohibitions imposed by customs or other competent authorities.
- Its nature, shape, and dimensions do not cause damage to rolling stock.
- It does not inconvenience or endanger other passengers.
- It does not obstruct the movement of passengers or the placement of other luggage.
Luggage Storage
Passengers may store their luggage:
- in designated storage areas above or below their seats
- in dedicated luggage spaces located near the entrances of the carriages (subject to availability)
Indicative Dimensions
For safe placement within available storage areas, the following indicative dimensions are recommended:
- Medium-sized suitcase: 66 × 44 × 28 cm
- Duffel bag: 46 × 27 × 30 cm
- Backpack: up to 30 cm in height

- Passengers are solely responsible for the safekeeping of their hand luggage.
- Hellenic Train shall not be liable for loss or damage, unless caused by its own fault or negligence.
- Passengers are liable for any damage caused by their luggage to rolling stock or to third parties, unless such damage is attributable to the company.
